The 2010 Technology Day Conference will feature a host of speakers discussing the most relevant issues when it comes to technology implementation in the construction industry today.
Mike Carrozzo, Constructech magazine
Mike is the chief editor of Constructech magazine. His editorial focus is on helping both commercial and residential construction professionals leverage technology to improve business practices. Mike has been a part of the Specialty Publishing Co. editorial team since joining the company in 2002.
Robert Dobbins, Duke Realty
Robert has handled operations, maintenance, and construction of healthcare, commercial office, retail and industrial properties for twenty-five years. He has worked for companies that included Walsh Higgins Company, Urban Engineering, Johnson Controls and now Duke Realty Corporation.
Thomas Figel, Lake Effect Communcations
In 1985, Tom founded the firm that evolved into today's Lake Effect Communications. He received a B.A. from Notre Dame and MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. He has worked in public relations since the 1970s.
John Jacobs, JE Dunn Construction
John serves as CIO for JE Dunn Construction. He leads the IT Dept, the Learning & Performance Dept, and oversees integration of national Operational Process. John’s focus is on leveraging technology to build better.
Robert Mathias, City of Bend, Oregon
With more than 20 years of experience in the public sector, Robert found the need to be one of the first jurisdictions to implement a fully integrated electronic permit and plan review program, computerized inspections, and a fleet of hybrid vehicles.
John Moebes, Crate & Barrel
John joined Crate & Barrel in 2006. Previously, he was an Associate Principal at Good Fulton & Farrell Architects where he oversaw the firm’s development and use of workflow technology. John is a leader in the uses of Internet-based project management tools, BIM, and digital document review.
Dawn Naney, BJC Healthcare
Dawn has more than 15 years experience establishing and managing teams responsible for the successful planning and execution of portfolios, programs and projects in design/construction, information technology, clinical interventions and process improvement, primarily in the healthcare industry.
Peggy Smedley, Constructech magazine
Peggy is an internationally known, highly respected personality in the media and business sides of the construction and M2M industries, as well as the fast-growing world of connected devices. She is also a renowned author and award-winning editor, earning various honors for editorial excellence.
Marshall Tuck, Samet Corp.
Marshall is responsible for Information Technology, Enterprise Risk Management, Safety, Equipment and Shop Management and overall office management. Marshall has been involved in all aspects of construction since joining Samet Corporation.
BJ VanOrman, JE Dunn Construction
BJ serves as a Strategic Manager for JE Dunn Construction. He works with the IT department, the Accounting department, and the Operations department to oversee integration between their Enterprise System to 3rd Party/Self Developed Platforms.

With more than 20 years of experience in the computer software industry, Jeff’s leadership and direction of the sales and business development team has led to CMiC’s successful partnerships with many of North America’s leading construction companies.
Richard Zavali, Torcon, Inc.
Richard has three decades of construction management experience. He has been centrally involved in Torcon’s adaption and use of Prolog Project Management software, as well as the company’s transition to a web-based solution.
