Keynote Session:

The Cost of Doing Business—Owner Outlook

If you are still on the fence about things like Web-based project management, BIM, business intelligence, digital workflow, etc. you may find yourself building sand castles against a rising tide. The construction industry is on the cusp of something big with technology, and soon enough the requirements for doing business will be significantly different than they are today.

Don't let slower business conditions fool you into thinking a technology movement is not occurring. The future is not three-to-five years away; it is just around the corner. Here is your opportunity to prepare for your future. Don’t miss the Owner’s Roundtable Discussion at Technology Day 2010, presented by Constructech magazine, where some of the most technology-progressive owner organizations in the industry talk about current requirements, future expectations, and keys to success for doing business with them.

2:00 p.m. – 2:40 p.m.

Cloud Solutions

Putting services in the cloud can be a cost-effective and sustainable solution to managing mission-critical construction information. This session will showcase a long-term, successful hosting deployment of a construction project management solution. Torcon discusses why it chose to deploy a hosted model rather than on premise and the benefits expected, both now and into the future.

2:45 p.m. – 3:25 p.m.

Your Content Management Strategy

A recent study by IDC estimates that 75% of digital information will reside in unstructured filing systems. During this presentation, take a look at some of the systems the construction industry is using to manage content such as ERP, project management, SharePoint, and file servers; as well as examine the technology available to help capture, classify, and manage the records within your organization both structured and unstructured. An integrated content management strategy includes these business applications as well as intelligent archiving solutions to manage unstructured information.

This presentation will detail the 'One Dunn' initiative and how the team from JE Dunn worked with CMiC to standardize processes, including project management, payroll, accounts payable, logistics, and accounts receivable across the company's 18 offices.
