Computer Guidance, Textura Partner
Being able to integrate invoicing and payment information with ERP (enterprise-resource planning) technology can allow construction companies to improve process efficiencies and communication with subcontractors and partners.
In order to address this need, Computer Guidance Corp., www.computerguidance.com, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Textura Corp., www.texturacorp.com, Deerfield, Ill., announced a strategic partnership for the construction industry today.
The companies have offered an interface between the systems in the past, but now the technology vendors are providing clients full integration between Computer Guidance’s eCMS and Textura—Construction Payment Management.
The new capabilities between Computer Guidance’s financial and project-management system and Textura’s payment-management system will enable users to import and export subcontractor contracts, invoices, change orders, compliance, and payments. This will ensure data is synched between the two systems and users are working with the most current information.
For contractors that prefer to use one single document repository, images generated in Texutra’s technology will be available in Computer Guidance’s software, enabling all the documents to be stored in one location.
Ultimately, the integration will allow for better communication and collaboration between contractors and subcontractors. As of late, Textura has aimed at creating a collaboration platform that connects all players in the construction process. The company has done this through internal product development and through acquisitions including Gradebeam.com and Submittal Exchange.
The partnership with Computer Guidance will enable a greater exchange of subcontractor information with the various departments within a construction organization such as finance and project management.
In the future, the companies say they plan to further enhance the integration by moving it to a Web-services environment.
