Maxwell Systems Makes a Splash

February 05, 2010

One major announcement coming out of this year’s World of Concrete conference in Las Vegas is from Maxwell Systems, www.maxwellsystems.com, King of Prussia, Pa., with a new product that focuses on integration and a little bit of underlying technology modification.

The company introduced ProContractorMX, a fully integrated system for contractors that encompasses estimating/takeoff, job cost/accounting, and project management as the high level points. This product integrates two primary components to any construction company's business--estimating and accounting--building on the robust product lines under the Maxwell Systems brand.

Jim Flynn, president and CEO, Maxwell Systems, tells Constructech that he is excited about this product's ability to be a "single application that covers all of the ground" for contractors. He also acknowledges the economic benefit of the system, as it helps reduce all the common inefficiencies that accompany working with disparate systems for two major tasks, such as estimating and accounting.

In order to provide such flexibility and scalability for the end user the product needed to be built on robust technology. Maxwell certainly addressed this issue by building ProContractorMX using a Microsoft .NET platform and SQL Server 2008. This will allow the product to scale appropriately to meet the needs of contractors and provide the flexibility needed in order for such tight integration to occur.

Flynn also notes how the acquisitions of Quest Solutions and Estimation, roughly three years ago, played a major role in this product release. It is the estimating expertise associated with the products, says Flynn, that helps provide strong estimating solutions to contractors. He also adds the company is always looking to enhance its product portfolio, whether it be organically or through an acquisition that was complimentary to existing products.
