HDOT Selects Skire

November 27, 2007

Companies, municipalities, and agencies continue to improve the bottomline of their projects with the help of sophisticated project management solutions for the construction industry. Skire Inc., www.skire.com, Menlo Park, Calif., announced the Airports Division of HDOT (Hawaii Dept. of Transportation), www.hawaii.gov/dot/, Honolulu, Hawaii, selected Skire Unifier for managing more than $2 billion in capital improvement programs.

Skire says Unifier will enable the HDOT Airports Division to simplify statewide tracking and reporting for capital improvement contracts and funding sources, as well as improve management for other capital and maintenance projects.

HDOT will use the system to track capital projects for 15 commercial and general aviation airports across six islands, according to Skire. Key to the deployment is the ability to manage data for dozens of federal, state, local, and private funding sources for projects in all phases of development. In addition, the solution will enable the HDOT Airports Division to more easily manage contracts for design and construction consultants and contractors.

“Unifier will allow us to easily map our unique business processes to its powerful tracking, reporting, and document management capabilities,” says Dennis Higa, engineering manager, HDOT Airports Division. “It was the only solution that gave us both the ability to roll data up for statewide reporting and to drill down into detailed project data without requiring extensive customization or programming. This flexibility will accelerate our deployment and eventual expansion to tracking maintenance projects, as well as capital projects.”
