November 09, 2000

Carol Stream, IL, November 9, 2000 - Constructech magazine, announced the winners of its 1st Vision Awards at a ceremony held in Anaheim, Calif., last night.

"Constructech magazine serves as a resource to help contractors and builders sift through the myriad technology options available today," says Peggy Smedley, editorial director and publisher. "Over the past two years, Constructech has established its reputation as the leader in the field of construction-technology publishing. For that reason, we are excited to recognize leaders in the construction community who have been able to creatively and effectively incorporate leading-edge technologies in the planning and building processes."

The competition was open to companies involved in the following areas: residential construction, commercial and heavy construction, subcontractors in all trades, architectural and engineering firms, and land developers. Each entry was evaluated on its individual merits and on the extent to which it used Windows technology to address the major challenges or opportunities facing contractors, architects, and subcontractors today. Entrants were asked to address the following questions:

  • How changing technology is incorporated within the company?
  • How processes have been improved through the use of technology?
  • How new processes resulted in better performance?

  • What is the benefit to the overall business practice?
  • What technology led to productivity improvements?
  • Increased ability to adapt to market conditions through technology?
