Carol Stream, Ill. – July 23, 2009 – Constructech magazine will kick off its fourth annual Technology Day conference with a keynote session by Dr. Tom Iseley, one of a handful of experts in the country following the intersection of construction, technology, and the Internet. Tom Iseley, Ph.D., P.E., is professor & director of Construction Engineering Management Technology at IUPUI-Purdue School of Engineering & Technology.

Technology Day will be held Aug. 20, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare hotel. It is the construction industry's foremost event promoting the use of technology. Iseley has more than 35 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of underground infrastructure systems.

“Technology has made an incredible impact on the construction industry and is moving at a rapidly accelerating pace. I will provide the Tech Day audience with an overview of the current best practices and a roadmap to determining how technology can most effectively be selected and woven into a project,” says Dr. Iseley.

Information systems to help manage the project and automation tools to help with production in the field are constantly changing, and construction professionals need to do the proper due diligence in order to make the right decision.

“There are few experts from the world of academia that can bring Dr. Iseley’s breadth of knowledge and sensitivity to technology selection issues to the table. He truly represents a global view of the situation grounded with a real world understanding of the pain and complexity of construction projects,” said Mike Carrozzo, chief editor of Constructech.

Technology Day offers attendees the chance to hear from some of the most successful members of the construction industry during its annual one-day conference. With the builders and contractors who implement winning solutions to the providers who supply that technology, Technology Day will identify the most crucial topics in the construction space through networking, education, and demonstrations.

Other Technology Day highlights will include:
• Exhibit Hall featuring the top solution providers serving the construction industry
• The Technology Town Hall Meeting producing the valuable insight needed to better leverage technology
• The announcement of this year’s Constructech Vision Award winners
